By using Misd, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
We've written these to be readable — not to intimidate you. If something is unclear, email us at legal@misd.me.
What Misd Is
Misd is an anonymous missed connections platform. Users post brief descriptions of real public encounters — things that actually happened, with real people, in the real world. Posts are location-tagged and shown to nearby users who may have been in the same place during the same time window.
When two people independently signal interest in the same post, a temporary private chat opens between them. Posts expire after 24, 48, or 72 hours, whichever the poster chose. Nothing is permanent. That's the whole point.
Eligibility
You must be 17 or older to use Misd. This is consistent with Misd's App Store age rating. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
If we become aware that a user under 17 is using the app, we reserve the right to remove their content and block their device token without notice.
Your Content
You are responsible for what you post. Posts must describe real, genuine public encounters.
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Harassment, threats, or content designed to intimidate or demean
- Explicit sexual content
- Spam, ads, self-promotion, or referral content
- Doxxing — sharing personal or identifying information about another person
- Impersonation of any person or organization
- Content that is illegal under applicable law
We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend any user, at any time, without prior notice. We don't owe you a warning before acting on a violation.
Anonymous Use & Device Identity
Misd does not require an account. You don't sign up, log in, or provide any personal information to use the app. We use a device token — a random identifier generated on your device — to associate your posts and activity within the app. This token is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or any personal identity.
You may not use Misd to attempt to identify, locate, or expose other users. The anonymity of the platform is a feature, not a loophole — treating it otherwise violates these terms.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using Misd, you agree to both documents.
The short version: we do not sell personal data. We do not share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We don't store location data after it's been used for matching. See the full Privacy Policy for specifics.
Intellectual Property
Misd and the Loconomy name and marks are owned by Loconomy, Inc. You may not use them without permission.
You retain ownership of the content you post. By posting, you grant Misd a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your content to nearby users for the duration of the post's life. Once a post expires, this license ends. We don't archive, sell, or repurpose your content after it expires.
No Guarantees
Misd is provided "as is." We make no guarantees about uptime, availability, match quality, or outcomes. The person you're looking for may not use the app, may not have seen your post, or may simply choose not to respond — and that's okay.
We are not responsible for in-person interactions, meetings, or events that result from using Misd. Use your own judgment. Be safe.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Loconomy, Inc. and its officers, employees, and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — Misd. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of data, loss of revenue, or harm arising from content posted by other users.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the app will not exceed the greater of $10 USD or the amount you paid us in the six months preceding the claim (which, for most users, is $0).
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Misd after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
If we make material changes, we'll do our best to notify users through the app. But it's also on you to check this page occasionally.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Fulton County, Georgia.
